It's been awhile since my last blog posting. I've been working on several gigs and have been debating whether I should post recent jobs I've done. I initially wanted to use this blog as a space for my personal explorations, but after much urging from colleagues and clients who want to see my latest work, I caved in and decided to post recent projects. These are photos from a shoot with the Poon family.....Yeeling, Paul, Ben and Tyla. If I had kids, I'd want them to be just as goofy and adorable as these two. The best thing about doing a family shoot is that you get to play with other people's cute kids and not have to worry about saving money for their college tuition.
As a professional photographer, the industry often pigeonholes us into categories such as portraiture, still life, landscape, wedding, documentary, lifestyle, etc. We get hired for our "unique style" and proficiency in specific areas of photography. I often find these unspoken restrictions and labels troubling because it puts a limit on my creativity. I get hired to do portraiture work, but I love to explore everything with my camera. This blog is a space for me to document and experiment with people, places and things that cross my path. This is a place for me to break the rules, and change my subject matter or photo-processing style whenever the heck I please. This is a place of chaos, where a coherent theme doesn't exist, and where you'll find me capturing "a little bit of this, and a little bit of that."

1) Please don't mistake me for the other photographer "Hanh Nguyen" who shoots weddings in Orange County.
2) I make lots of typos. This blog is no exception.
3) Dogs, dolphins and panda bears are the hands-down best animals ever!
4) I live out of my van on weekends. There's always an adventure to be found.
5) If I tease you, that means I like you.
6) If you talk too much I’ll walk away and not even realize it. Please don’t be offended. It’s me, not you.
7) Please don't describe me as short and cute. I prefer people to call me badass.
8) Despite what friends think, I do get out of bed before 10 am.
9) Please don’t ask me silly questions because I’ll have to tell you the truth.
10) Don't make social plans with me more then one day in advance otherwise I'll flake on you. However, do call me if you are in the mood to do something now. I will more then likely show up.
